Culture and Recreation:

I am a strong advocate for our North Saanich Heritage Strategic Plan which showcases our First Nations, social, natural and agricultural history by acknowledging relevant historic sites, architecture, view points and natural features throughout our community.

I support funding for many local arts and cultural endeavours including our Mary Winspear Cultural Centre.

I support funding for our Panorama pool renovations. I favoured a compromise on the height of the water slide due to the growing expense and possible future legal challenges of the proposed height and although a compromise was not achieved, I urge us all who favoured the height compromise to move forward and support the recreational ventures at Panorama and others throughout North Saanich.

I have advocated and achieved a wider network of bike paths and routes, trail links and green space and will continue to make this an ongoing priority.
