Glamorgan Farm is a member of Nature Scape British Columbia, an organization partnered with the British Columbia Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection, Canadian Wildlife Service, and the Habitat Conservation Trust Fund.

This worthwhile project encourages and assists residents, no matter where they live, on how encourage wildlife and birds to your garden, farm, patio or even a bird feeder or a floral arrangement that attracts butterflies on your deck.

The package they send to you is an informative array of booklets, news letters, brochures and resource material which describes everything from creating a hedgerow with native plantings (and which birds and wildlife the hedgerow will attract), to building rock piles for snakes, to the importance of planting scented evening flowers, to how to collect and recycle rain water.

Other topics (and there are hundreds!) include an identification list of butterfly species, how to restore a meadow, creating a woodland garden, removal of invasive species, and how to build a bat house.

This is a fun and amusing project for all ages at any time of year. Here on Glamorgan Farm, we cleaned out the garden shed and recycled old clay flower pots, watering cans and ceramic garden items and created a toad condominium beside the pond.
Participants receive a small membership sign and lots of visitors who come to see what you have provided for them!
